Opuntia cyclodes is a little known plant from New Mexico. The authors have observed it in rocky, mountainous locations (eg, Villanueva State Park) and less rocky areas (eg, Conchas Late State Park). Read an early mention of O. cyclodes here (Contributions from the United States National Herbarium, v. 13 page 309, 1909-1912).
