Opuntia chisosensis (Anthony) Ferguson

O. chisosensis is another Opuntia found only in the Big Bend region of Texas in the United States, but it is found in Coahuila, Mexico. O. chisosensis grows above 5,000 ft in wooded areas; it is distinguisable in its habitat by the typical yellow spines. The basionym for O. chisosensis is O. lindheimeri Engelm var. chisosensis Anthony (Amer. Mid. Naturalist 55; 252).
